Comments: As with all woodwind instruments, a tune up to suit your playing preference may be desired upon receipt, as different players set these up different ways.Everything pictured is ready to be professionally packed and shipped. After some research, I was unable to come up with a year on this one. It sounds great though, and has nice feel to it. Look the photos over all slides work, valves have good compression. This is a vintage instrument, and will need some love to be up to professional playing condition. The Mark Kalashen model is given as 'The Yankee New York' with a serial of 5946. Everything is in working order, and it looks as if the pads have been replaced recently. There is some discoloration, oxidation, scratches, light dings throughout the instrument from use over the many years (see pics). Kalashen Yankee Sax looks good for its age. Key, Pad, and Spring Condition: Everything is in working order, but will likely need some light work. Does anyone have information on the history or quality of the MJ Kalashen Yankee New York Cornet Im seeing one for sale and what little Ive found online.Location of Manufacture: New York, New York USA.You might want to count on having to have this horn adjusted and possibly repadded by a good Sax Technician to get it into top form. The Buescher True Tone is an excellent horn, and during this period, I think that the Buescher stencils were of a higher quality in general due to the fact that they were made more faithfully to the original designs and construction quality than a lot of other maker's Stencil lines.Your horn should turn out to be a superb player, with a wonderful sound. I don't have my references where I am located at present, so I can't lock down an exact date of manufactuer, however I am certain it is around the early to mid 1920's.I collect all makes of vintage horns, and favor Conn's, however I think that you are all the more fortunate that it turned out to be a True Tone, rather than a New Wonder series I. Hi Joford,I would say that you can be most confident that this horn is indeed a Buescher True Tone stencil horn.
